Risks of housing farmworkers on site

Regarding independent contractor farm workers who also rent a residence on the farm — what are the legal risks regarding employment law and/or farm worker housing? Any overlap between those areas of the law that we should be considering? Background details: rent is separate and this person contracts with our 2 businesses (farm and property management LLCs as 1099) and household as a nanny (W2), but rents from the farm LLC – there are separate agreements for all.
