Hi all, I’m working with a dairy farmer in Indiana who is having an issue with a milk hauler. Three years ago DFA contracted with a milk hauler to transport this farmer’s milk, and the hauler has been very difficult to work with. The hauler had the farmer sign a contract charging them a $30 pick-up fee for each time he comes to the farm. Recently, the hauler demanded the farmers undertake construction to their road costing $30,000 (which the farmers claim the hauler knew they could not afford) or else the hauler would stop picking up their milk. The farmers say this road improvement is not within their contract, and believe this to be a breach of contract. They are looking for any resources or a contract law attorney in Indiana that may be able to help.
